Difficulties faced in Recruitment in Bangalore
As we all know that Bangalore is the capital for IT and BPO operations.People from all over India come to Bangalore to start their careers and find growth.
BPO and IT industry have provided and is still providing employment opportunities to lakhs of people every year and are responsible for the growth of Bangalore.
Difficulties that a recruiter faces
1.A recruiter cannot find the desired candidate matching the exact eligibility criteria.
2.Bad responses through Job Portals.
3.Conversion from offers to joinees is a major problem as the candidate keeps his/her options open and takes multiple interviews.
4.Unable to reach all the candidates looking for a job because not all the candidates looking for a job registers a Job Portal.
5.Before the candidate is approached for job opportunities from a consultancy, another consultancy would have approached the candidate which becomes a problem for recruiters to meet their targets.
Difficulties that a candidate faces
1.When it comes to IT jobs, if a fresh candidate gets a job through campus interviews then he/she is fine. But the candidate who does not get a job from campus selections, it takes the candidate almost an year to find a job.
Few wait for an year but few jump to a different career.
2.When a candidate is looking for a job change, not all approach Job Portals because the same profiles is shared by thousands of companies and consultancies and the candidate gets irritated as he/she gets more than 20 calls for interviews.
3.Few do not approach Job Portals because they think that they will get a call from their own company for an interview which might create a problem.
4.Few take up the interviews through employee references in different companies.
5.The candidate keeps getting calls for interview even after he/she gets a new job.
Few Solutions
1.Recruiters who source for profiles must build a strong network.
2.Recruiters must place the candidate in the right job that satisfies the candidate.By doing this the candidate refers his/her colleagues and friends to the recruiter.
3.Recruiters must have a passion for recruitment and must understand that helping candidates with a job is a big responsibility.
4.Think not only from a company or a client's point of view, but also find out about candidate's
necessities before scheduling them for an interview. If this is done then convincing the candidate will not be necessary.
5.Do not waste candidate's time by giving them false promises.
6.Recruiters must make sure that they start working as early as possible to reach the candidate first before the other companies/clients/colleagues.Because the profiles updated everyday is shared to all the companies and consultancies by the Job Portals.Common profiles are shared.
7.Utilize all the resources like sms and email facilities.

A BE Graduate with 84% Marks started his career in a BPO.I asked him why did he getting into a BPO when he had scored well in his graduation. He said that the HR Recruiter who recruited him told him that he has to work as a Call Center Executive for 1 year and then only he would be moved to the IT department. He worked there for 2 years waiting for an opportunity to work as a developer.
I gave him few contacts through which he got placed in one of the most reputed IT companies.
